Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) can be returned free of charge on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. Local authorities are also required to accept household WEEE at their recycling centers, free of charge. It is important to recycle all WEEE and not place them in household bins. Always recycle your old electrical items properly.
What can I recycle for free? You can recycle large kitchen appliances such as fridges, washing machines, dishwashers, and cookers, as well as smaller items like kettles, toasters, blenders, remote controls, batteries, and electric toothbrushes. Even items like old bicycle lamps can be recycled!
Do I need to make a purchase at Morris DIY to recycle? No, you can recycle any of the items listed above at our store, even if you haven't made a purchase with us.
Will you collect my old product? Yes, if you’re having a large appliance delivered by us, we will collect your old one for recycling. Just make sure your old appliance is disconnected, cleaned, and ready for collection at the time of delivery.
For small appliances, which are delivered by courier, you can bring your old item back to Morris DIY to recycle it free of charge. We’ll ensure it’s disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
Do you accept used batteries? Yes, we do. You’ll find battery recycling bins near our checkouts, or you can give them to a staff member. We accept AA, AAA, C, D, and flat coin batteries used in watches and toys. However, we cannot accept industrial or car batteries.
What’s the cost? Returning items for recycling to our store is completely free.
