What do I need to know about floors??
Did you know...
Laminate flooring is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates wood with a photographic
applique layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and fibre board materials. All laminate floor covering have requirements and testing methods which determines the AC rating.
Semi-Solid/Engineered Flooring is a man-made structured ply with a real wood veneer
on top. It gives the appearance of a solid wood floor but without the same movement of
a solid floor boards. This allows for the floor to be glued or floated on an underlay and
means that it is also suitable for underfloor heating.
AC RATINGS is a measure of a floor’s resistance to abrasion, impact and stains.
The ratings also indicate that the product has been tested for the effects of
furniture legs, castors and swelling along the edges.
